Born the oldest of four girls to High school sweetheart parents, I grew up surrounded by a family of loud, expressive, emotional, strong women! My poor dad was out numbered well and truly. At 15, my life was turned upside down with my parents divorcing and our family split in two. Seeing my dad cry for the first time in my life was devastating. My childhood bubble burst big time!

I fled into the arms of my first boyfriend. Telling myself that he loved me and I could trust no one. Of course that story also ended with further heartache, but that’s a story for another time.

Fast forward through graduating high school, moving to another city in another state by myself and starting college. At the ripe old age of 19, I met my soulmate Steve at a birthday party.

Still not knowing Jesus, we started our life together in a little two bedroom miners cottage with a trap door toilet and a laundry floor you could fall through if you didn’t watch your step.

Marriage and two babies later my search for ‘more’ intensified. I was determined that my children would not have to go through what I did in my teenage years.

March 30, 1994 sitting around my kitchen table I decided to follow Jesus. And life has never been the same! Three children, one husband, several businesses, numerous houses, four states and two countries later here I am!

I cannot truthfully say, that life has been super kind to me. There have been moments and actual years that I would never have imagined I could have lived through.
And yet I can still say I am blessed!

The triumphs and the tragedies make me who I am today. A little older, a few more wrinkles and a lot more cellulite, and somewhat wiser.
With a far greater value for intentionality, vulnerability, authenticity and of course for family.
